Older Adults Still In Service

While we may have retired from an active work life, we are still fully engaged in ministering and serving our church and community. We share in various activities including monthly fellowships, day and overnight trips, a senior traveling choir and growth conferences. Our seniors have ample opportunities to invite and share the gospel of Christ with friends and family in a very friendly non-confrontational atmosphere. All our activities are Christ centered and welcoming and always includes Friends, Food, Fellowship and Fun!

OASIS Activities:

Here Seniors can find their place of service in our OASIS Group. Activities include a monthly meal where food, fun and fellowship are always found. A lunch n learn is always a highlight, in the past we have had SCAM Prevention, the Yellow tag program and other topics of interest for Seniors.

Highlights of the year often include a Senior short trip. We have been to the ARK in Kentucky, the Cumberland Playhouse, Mike Huckabee Show taping as well as the Grand Old Opry!

OASIS Service Opportunities:

Seniors can find their place of service in our OASIS Group. Activities include a monthly meal, including food, fun, and fellowship. OASIS also leads Trinity in ministries, including:

• Annual First Responders recognition family picnic and annual lunch
• Annual care pack and lunch ministry for a local elementary school—WE-CARE
• “Date night,” offering child care for young adults
• Daily Bread Meal Delivery

Daily Bread Meal Delivery:

OASIS also supports Unity Hospital here in Manchester by providing Volunteers to deliver hot meals to local shut ins and those in need. Teams of two pick up hot meals from the hospital which are made especially for the individual and then delivers them to their homes. Many of these folks are home-bound and require assistance for their meals. By volunteering we assure that they receive a hot meal daily.

It’s a great time to meet some wonderful people who aren’t able to get out. We often pray with them and their family and look for ways our church can minister to them.

The delivery process takes about two hours and has been a real blessing for those involved. Schedules are made for the month and open slots are always available.
